Kids Books About Sleep

Books are a big part of our bedtime routine. We read three books at nap time and three books at bedtime. As parents, my husband and I choose the number of books that we read, but we always let our little one choose which books to read. Remember from the blog about toddler bedtime battles – you make the big decisions, kiddos make the little decisions.

Thanks to the generosity of our family and friends, we have quite a library of books. Here are just a few of my favorite books about sleep.

Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late by Mo Willems

If you are a fan of Mo Willems, you already know about the pigeon book series. “Don’t let the Pigeon Drive the Bus, “The Pigeon Has to Go to School,” and “The Pigeon Needs a Bath are some of our favorites. We also love, for obvious reasons, “Don’t Let the Pigeon Stay Up Late.” I love the book, and I also love an early bedtime. Find it on Amazon here.

Click Clack Goodnight by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin

If you’re a fan of “Click Clack Moo,” you will love “Click Clack Goodnight” by Doreen Cronin and Betsy Lewin. This adorable books discusses bedtime routines and finding a sleep strategy that works for you. Want to incorporate some yoga? Sounds good to me! They even have a white noise machine on the farm! You can find it here.

No More Naps by Chris Grabenstein

Finally – if you’ve struggled with a kiddo refusing to nap, this one is for you. “No More Naps” by Chris Grabenstein is a funny book about a little girl who does not want to take a nap. It’s silly and funny and shows desperate parents taking their little girl for a walk in a stroller to try to get her to sleep. We’ve all been there, right? Here is the link to this one!

I highly encourage you to make a book (or 3!) part of your bedtime routine. If you need help finding a schedule that works for you, or if you have a kiddo who refuses to nap – shoot me an email at nikki@nikkinelsonsleepconsulting.com. I’d love to help!
